A vata time of year is crisp, chilly, windy, . . . its fall and winter.
Luckily, here in Boulder, those real winter days are far and few between. But in any event, the unpredictable weather changes can produce restlessness within the mind and stir up the bodies imbalances. So what can you do to prevent a Vata aggrevated Fall and Winter?
Try to turn restlessness into creativity. People with a dominant Vata dosha are often the artists who are tuned into nature, light, and color. They tend to have explosive creative energy. So rather than fumble anxiously around with worries this winter, begin a glorious project for yourself, your home, your family. You name it! Go for it.
As for preserving your skin during the changing seasons, remember to "lube up." Sesame oil is an inexpensive product that will soften and moisturize your beautiful bodies. It's lovely to warm your sesame oil before the application. Apply the oil in the shower or before a bath. Dry off with a darker towel because sesame oil can stain.
Add some candles and music and you are well on your way to a managable winter.
